About Us

The Crossroads occupies a building constructed in the late 19th century as a general store. (An 1890 journal leaves a record of purchases and accounts receivable.) Today it combines the sturdy comfort of its rural heritage with the necessities of the 21st century. Old family photos, a pump, and a pot-bellied stove share space with a coffee machine, beverage refrigerator and rental DVDs.

Owner/operators Dennis and Jane Borger were born in Northampton County, PA. They grew up participating in 4-H and the Grange, met at Northampton High School, and married after graduation. Over the years they hosted small and large gatherings—clam bakes, Thanksgiving turkey, Easter ham, and the traditional summer picnics with potato salad, baked beans, hamburgers and barbecued chicken—while they worked other jobs.

Dennis, a Renaissance man known as "the mayor of Klecknersville," drove an oil truck and developed financial software before buying the Crossroads. Jane worked at Acme Markets before and after raising their two sons. Their years of expertise combine to produce quality catering, baked goodies, and meals-to-go in a relaxed atmosphere.
